About:
East Lake Elementary School in the Massapequa School District were able to create a big number to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The school raised $6,857.50 to help children who are battling cancer and other deadly diseases. Many of the patients at the hospital are being treated for the most aggressive childhood cancers. To show their support, East Lake students participated in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon. Students had sponsors make pledges as they completed books filled with grade-appropriate math questions.
